The day after the Aurora theater shooting I shared some thoughts about such an event happening again . . . . . now, the Clackamas Mall Shooting in Portland. A great many similarities there with the small blessing the shooter killed himself.
I will simply link to my thoughts – for they are the same for this shooting and will remain so for the next . . . .
This is what evil does . . . . and it will surely raise it’s head again down the road. For today, our prayers are with the families of the victims, their loss is irreplaceable . . .
For the rest of us – wear your damn gun, train, prepare . . . .
because it will happen again . . . .
and for goodness sakes, pay attention in the mall parking lots as well. That's where "they" almost got the wife and me this year.... and yes I had my gun and was going for it
ReplyDeleteHopefully they changed their minds . . . . .
DeleteParking lot/ramp attacks are a growing symptom of the fringes of society becoming more and more frayed. I wish I could see a reverse trend in the offing - sadly, I can't. Glad you and your wife were protected.
Sadly enough, this just proves that gun laws, gun controls, and gun-free zones actually work. Nobody who obeys the law were armed and in a position to stop this before it got out of hand. Soo...where are the Brady Bunch and all their ilk celebrating this "victory" of theirs tonight? Because this is exactly what they wanted.
ReplyDeleteYep - you would think it would be so simple. Those that obey the law will, regardless. Those that don't . . . . won't. Hard lessons sir, hard lessons.
DeleteCopy cat, except he stole the gun...
ReplyDeleteYep, appears so . . . . seem to be a number of similarities in his personal state of mind as well.
DeleteHere in NC I can't have my gun in a theater (or anywhere they charge admission), but in a mall I can (and do). Thankfully I've never had cause to use it; I pray that it will always be so but at least I have it if I need it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a continual wonder that some folks think a simply sign will protect their customers . . . . pure folly. And, I will join you - pray neither of us will ever draw in self defense . . . . but plan to continue to carry a weapon each and every day!
