Timing that is irrelevant. It will take as long as it takes, depending on what one is practicing. Just like running the gun dry- If that is part of the drill, then actually RUN IT DRY! Same with the pistol, RUN IT DRY! It will be at slide lock, and now what do you do? Drop the slide before you re-holster? Or just jam it in and go on???
